Du Saturday 5 June 2021
Au Sunday 31 October 2021

As soon as the cultural sites are reopened, the botanical colorist Virginie Lagerbe - Peregreen is entrusted with the task of bringing the novel "Madame Bovary" to life through an original visit to the garden. In Martainville, the endemic Norman plants with medicinal and coloring virtues will be explored and valued: Charles Bovary was a health officer, the world of plants with medicinal power was familiar to him, it is under this prism that Peregreen proposes a colorful visit of the park.

"Madame Bovary's garden" highlights 9 of the plants mentioned in the novel and their dyeing properties (ash, bramble, hawthorn, willow, etc.), thus creating an "Emma's color chart". These harmonies of colors from medicinal plants, with coloring virtues, hidden in the garden of the castle of Martainville, will be presented in the park thanks to 9 dye boxes.
