Thanks to the genius of Gustave Flaubert, the fictional town of Yonville-l'Abbaye is the main setting for the action of Madame Bovary. It has acquired an existence of its own, whose Norman anchorage consolidates its realism. To embody this village on the screen, the directors Jean Renoir (1934) and Claude Chabrol (1991) both set their scenes in Lyons-la-Forêt, in the Eure. Thanks to a photographic tour of the main filming locations, follow in the footsteps of the characters in the novel to discover the heritage that inspired Yonville, the iconic town of French cinema. Starting point of the tour: Lyons Andelle tourist office. Paper and virtual maps are at your disposal to guide you in your walk. Event proposals are being developed to complement these 5 months of exhibition.
