The exhibition " Dans la tête de Gustave Flaubert (In the Mind of Gustave Flaubert)" takes the visitor into the bubbling mind of the writer, compartmentalized in the manner of phrenology. In vogue and then ridiculed in Flaubert's time, this pseudo-science classified the human faculties and assigned them a precise location in the brain. The artist's mind will thus be restored like a cabinet of curiosities. The exhibition will evoke his affections (family, loves, friends), his relationship to space (here and elsewhere), to time (apprehension of various facts and historical facts) and to money (which does not interest him), ending with his passion for books and his way of working. The exhibition is accompanied by a catalog and a program of activities: educational tour for schools, readings, lectures, guided tours. Tuesday to Friday from 1 to 5 pm.
