Exhibition realized in collaboration with Hubert Hangard and Daniel Fauvel, authors of the books Fortune and misfortune of Flaubert. Friday, November 12, 2021 at 5:30 pm, Anne Frank media library: Presentation of the books Fortune and Misfortune of Flaubert by the authors Hubert Hangard and Daniel Fauvel. Rediscover the town of Déville lès Rouen through the eyes of the Flauberts who lived there from 1821 to 1844 and follow the traces of the last vestiges of their first "country house", evoked with nostalgia in Gustave Flaubert's correspondence. Through the future of this old property, it is the history of the people of Devillois that we rediscover during this pivotal period between rurality and industrialization. The exhibition will be accompanied by an audio broadcast of readings aloud by the Municipal Theater School, on the correspondence of Flaubert.
