Along the Nile. Juliette Agnel on the tracks of Du Camp and Flaubert

The Abbey of Jumièges programs, in the Abbey Logis, a selection of two photographic series of Voyage dans le temps and Nocturnes - Soudan by the artist Juliette Agnel, whose work was partly inspired by the photographic production that Du Camp carried out during his trip to the Orient with Gustave Flaubert and published in Egypt, Nubia, Palestine and Syria: Photographic drawings collected during the years 1849, 1850 and 1851, accompanied by an explanatory text and preceded by an introduction by Maxime Du Camp, charged with an archaeological mission to the Orient by the Ministry of Public Instruction in 1852.
